Get You a Therapist Who Can Do Both…I Am Now A Bicoastal Therapist!

I am super excited to announce that I am now fully licensed in both New York state and California now! This has been a long time coming, as it always made sense for me to get licensure in my home state (even though NY is my true home now). California (particularly LA of course) is just as much an entertainment hub as NY is, and it felt silly to reject clients simply due to them choosing one market or zip code over another!

Unfortunately, despite therapy moving online in recent years, legislature takes a while to catch up! Getting licensure in more than one place is not as simple as sending in some paperwork. There are some practical reasons for this, for instance, living and practicing in NY means I am most familiar with resources of that area. That makes it even easier for me to do my job when my clients need referrals or help connecting to emergency resources. Since I was born and raised in LA though, I felt it made most sense to pursue licensure there as well. While there is some reciprocity with some licenses and some states, NY and CA have unique requirements making it harder to seek full licensure there. In many ways, it was like starting from scratch!

It has been a slow process, but I am very happy to be able to offer my services to both industry hubs!
