My clients are passionate individuals with big dreams and aspirations. Clients come to me for my unique understanding of the life of an artist, and so that they can reach their true potential personally, professionally, and creatively. I help my clients to clarify who they are as people, and what that means for their direction in life. I help my clients to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, so that they are not held back creatively and professionally. My goal is to help my clients live fulfilling lives, not lives of hardship or turmoil. I do not believe you need to be miserable to be an artist! I understand that the ups and downs of working in the arts are unavoidable, and help my clients to make changes in their life to improve their overall wellbeing. I understand that being an artist is not just a career, but who you are. Together we can use that understanding to reach your creative and personal goals.

Collaborator Counseling

Creative working relationships can be just as complicated and difficult to navigate as romantic relationships. While typically clients seek couples counseling for their partners in life, I provide counseling for partners in work. Benefits of attending counseling with your working partners are better communication, conflict resolution, clearer boundaries, stronger bonds, and ultimately more room for creativity. Collaborators tend to part ways not because of “creative differences” as is often cited, but because they have lost hope in their ability to work together effectively. Whether you are life long writing partners, a small team on an important project, or something in between, attending therapy even short term can lead to benefits.

Speaking Engagements & Writing

One very large goal of my practice is to spread education and awareness on the importance of prioritizing mental health in the arts industries. I currently work towards this long-term goal with workshops, speaking engagements, interviews, article writing, and much more. Whether you are a guild, union, BFA program, theater company, podcast, or something else all together, I am interested in seeing if we can meet our mutual goals together. Having a therapist specialized in the arts supporting your organization or community, can lead to better work environments, improved collaboration, and increased freedom to be vulnerable and creative in one’s work. Let’s make a change to these industries together!
